UPSC Civil Services Exams! इसकी प्रतिष्ठा का अंदाजा इसी बात से लगाया जा सकता है,
कि हर वर्ष लाखों विद्यार्थी IAS Officer बनने के लिए यूनियन पब्लिक सर्विस कमीशन (UPSC) द्वारा आयोजित सिविल सेवा परीक्षा देते है, लेकिन मुश्किल से .025% विद्यार्थी ही IASOfficer बन पाते है|Civil Services Exams की Final Success Rate सामान्यत: .30% के करीब होती है जिसमें से भी सबसे प्रतिष्ठित Indian Administrative Services की Success Rate सामान्यत: .025% से भी कम होती है|लेकिन जिनके हौसले बुलंद होते है, वे मुश्किलों से डरते नहीं और सफलता को उनके आगे झुकना ही पड़ता|
UPSC Civil Services Exam 2014 के नतीजे कुछ खास रहे क्योंकि पहले 4 स्थानों पर लड़कियों ने बाजी मारी और उसमें से भी पहले स्थान पर एक ऐसी लड़की सफल हुई, जिसका 60% शरीर विकलांग है|
Ira Singhal ने UPSC Civil Service Exams 2014 में सर्वोच्च स्थान हासिल कर यह साबित कर दिया है कि मेहनत और बुलंद हौसलों के आगे विकलांगता बहुत कमजोर है|इरा सिंघल को अपनी विकलांगता के कारण कई मुसीबतों का सामना करना पड़ा लेकिन उन्होंने हार नहीं मानी|
इरा सिंघल ने 2010 में ही सिविल सेवा परीक्षा पास कर ली थी और वे Indian Revenue Service – IRS पद पर नियुक्ति की हकदार थी लेकिन शारीरिक रूप से विकलांग होने के कारण डिपार्टमेंटने उनकी नियुक्ति पर रोक लगा दी| लेकिन उन्होंने हार नहीं मानी और उन्होंने Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT)में मामला दर्ज कराया |
CAT का फैसला IRA Singhal के पक्ष में आया और उन्हें Assistant Commissioner of Customs and Central Excise Service (IRS) पर नियुक्त किया गया|कई मुसीबतों के बावजूद इरा सिंघल ने प्रयास जारी रख और फिर से सिविल सेवा की परीक्षा दी| उन्होंने 2014 Civil Service Exam में Top कर, फिर से यह साबित कर दिया कि भले ही वे शारीरिक रूप से थोड़ी कमजोर है लेकिन मानसिक रूप से वे बेहद शक्तिशाली है|
इरा सिंघल महिलाओं, बच्चों और शारीरिक रूप से असक्षम लोगों के कल्याण के लिए कार्य करना चाहती है|

आज हमें इरा सिंघल जैसे लोगों पर गर्व होता है, क्योंकि ऐसे लोग हर बार यह साबित कर देते है कि – नामुनकिन कुछभी नहीं – Nothing is Impossible|

Ira Singhal ने यह साबित किया है कि उनके बुलंदहौसलों के आगे मुसीबतें और विकलांगता बहुत कमजोर है|
